FAQ

How do you play Higher or Lower?

You see one team's number for a stat, such as Stanley Cups won. A second team's number is hidden. Tap Higher if you think the hidden number is bigger, or Lower if you think it is smaller. A right answer adds one to your streak. One wrong answer ends the run.

Where do the numbers come from?

Every number is the answer to a question in one of our own quizzes. After each guess you get a link to the quiz the number comes from.

Are the totals up to date?

Totals that can still change, like titles won, say which season they run through. League points for the 2025-26 season are final and do not change, and a points round only ever pairs two teams from the same league, such as Premier League points 2025-26.

What if both teams have the same number?

That pair is never shown. The two numbers in a round are always different, so there is always a right answer.

Is my best streak saved?

Yes, in this browser on this device. There are no accounts, so clearing your browser data resets it. Each league filter keeps its own best streak.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. When a run ends, tap Challenge a Friend. Your friend gets a link that shows the streak they need to beat, with a live count of how many more they need during the run.

Which leagues are in the game?

NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL and soccer. Pick one league or play All for a mix. All switches to a new stat every few rounds. The game remembers the league you picked last.

Is there a daily Higher or Lower?

Yes. The Daily Higher or Lower has 10 pairs, the same for everyone each day, with one try per day and a daily streak.
